Scott L. Emery
As a firm partner, Scott helps clients to effectively structure and document transactions involving business combinations, purchases and sales, and real estate. He counsels businesses and individuals in the areas of (1) General Corporation and Business Law; (2) Business Formation; (3) Growth Strategies; (4) Real Estate; (5) Banking; and (6) Exit Planning.
Scott works with entrepreneurs, privately-held businesses, banks, and individuals to solve legal challenges and structure solutions. He also serves as outsourced general counsel, providing privately-held businesses with advice in several aspects of business laws, including entity and owner matters, contract review and drafting, sales, and acquisitions.
Scott has significant experience working with an array of industry participants, including community banks, manufacturers, general contractors and subcontractors, and restaurant operators. He works with his clients to find practical solutions that will save money and add value to their businesses. Scott’s focus is not in just identifying problems, but finding the right solution.
Prior to joining the firm, Scott focused on transactions and tax planning for companies as a tax consultant for the international accounting firm of KPMG LLP.
Graduating with a B.A. degree from Arizona State University, Scott earned his Juris Doctor degree at Washington University School of Law and a Masters of Law in Taxation from Washington University School of Law.
